First beating heart experiment outside the body
Thanks to the collaboration between the Dutch Heart Foundation, RegMed XB and Health~Holland, researchers are working on keeping a heart healthy outside the body and regenerate its function.

GROZ staat voor de kanteling van de gezondheidszorg en is letterlijk een keerwoord van het woord ZORG, waarbij niet de Z van ziekte vooropstaat, maar de G van gezondheid.
Pre-announcement call for Human Measurement Models 2.0: for health research on diseases and prevention
NWO Domain Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES), the Association of Collaborating Health Foundations (SGF), ZonMw and Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (LSH; Health~Holland) together make 5.55 million euros available for the development and validation of human measurement models. Through public-private partnerships within the research programme a contribution is made to science that becomes more effective for humans and is less dependent on laboratory animals.

Innovation in peritoneal dialysis offers opportunities for kidney patients
Peritoneaaldialyse is één van de twee dialysevormen voor patiënten met nierfalen. De bestaande technieken kennen helaas ernstige nadelen, zoals buikvliesontsteking. Internist- nefroloog dr. Karin Gerritsen van het Universitair Medisch Centrum Utrecht onderzoekt met haar project COPEDIS of een optimalisatie van het PD-systeem deze nadelen wegneemt. Dit onderzoek wordt mede gefinancierd door de Nierstichting.

Launch Health Innovation Netherlands
Tijdens de werkconferentie Nationale Agenda Medtech op het ministerie van VWS is vandaag Health Innovation Netherlands van start gegaan. Deze nieuwe nationale infrastructuur gaat ondernemers en de zorgsector adviseren over medische technologie, methodologisch onderzoek verzorgen naar passende evaluaties en deze vertalen naar nieuwe evaluatiestandaarden.
