Treeway announces License and Collaboration Agreement with uniQure to develop a Gene Therapy for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

15 January 2015 Rotterdam, 14 January 2015 – Treeway B.V., founded by entrepreneurs Bernard Muller and Robbert Jan Stuit, both diagnosed with ALS, have announced a collaboration with uniQure N.V., a leading gene therapy company, (NASDAQ:QURE), to develop a gene therapy treatment for ALS.

3 December 2014 Rob van Leen, boegbeeld en voorzitter van het topteam en regiegroep van de Topsector Life Sciences & Health (LSH), maakt vandaag bekend dat Prof. dr. Nico van Meeteren de opvolger wordt van Frans van den Boom bij de Topsector LSH. Per 1 februari 2015 start Van Meeteren, tot voor kort Innovatiedirecteur van TNO, als Directeur van de Stichting LSH en secretaris van het Topteam LSH.

BioMarin acquires Prosensa in $840 million deal

24 November 2014 BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. and Prosensa Holding N.V. today announced that they have entered into a definitive agreement in which BioMarin will offer to purchase all of the outstanding ordinary shares of Prosensa for $17.75 per share, for a total up front consideration of approximately $680 million. In addition, two approximately $80 million contingent milestones are payable for the approval of drisapersen in the U.S. no later than May 15, 2016 and Europe no later than February 15, 2017, respectively.
