Biohybrid Kidney XB (Crossing Borders)

Innovation for dialysis has a major impact on the lives of patients with end stage kidney failure. The Biohybrid Kidney XB Program group is seeking partnerships with companies interested in co-developing membrane technology, (synthetic) cell technology, material sciences and micro electromechanical systems for (semi-) implantable artificial kidneys and similar devices.

Since 2020, ORANGEHealth has been active as a partnership of all seven Dutch knowledge institutions - universities and universities of applied sciences - in the field of oral healthcare. ORANGEHealth benefits from the unique oral care system, with periodic checkups, and establishes an integrated role of the oral healthcare professional in the broader healthcare system.

Pro-Long

PRO-LONG: Development and acceleration of innovative therapies for rare lung diseases

In this program, UMC Utrecht works together with Amsterdam UMC, two health funds/patient organizations and 34 professional associations, patient organizations and companies (Long Alliance Netherlands) in developing and making applicable innovative treatments for patients with hereditary lung diseases, like cystic fibrosis and primary ciliary dyskinesia.

REACT-NL (RAre Cancer Therapies-NL)

One in two Dutch people will develop cancer, of which 20% is a rare cancer (including childhood cancers). REACT-NL, a collaboration between KWF, KiKa, and Oncode Institute, aims at improving the diagnostics and treatment of rare tumours. The program stimulates innovation within public-private partnerships, with emphasis on valorization, to enhance patient outcomes.

RehabAI@Home: AI-driven rehabilitation in the home setting

RehabAI@Home is a collaborative program that combines rehabilitation and movement sciences with artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship to support higher quality and more independent rehabilitation in the home setting. RehabAI@Home uses a demand-driven, patient-centred approach to realize user-friendly, affordable, and scalable AI-driven care technologies.

Solid Start; AI & Data Science, Lifestyle, and Living Environment

This program aims to improve health and wellbeing of (future) families in vulnerable circumstances, specifically targeting the first thousand days of life. It funds research and development of innovations in the field of AI and data science that contribute to a better lifestyle and living environment of these (expecting) families.

This program is dedicated to improving health and preventing chronic diseases by empowering people to embrace healthier habits and creating supportive environments. With innovative technologies and concepts and tailored personal and community strategies, it focuses on enhancing nutrition, physical activity, and well-being. By creating lasting improvements, it paves the way for a healthier, more inclusive future.
