Winners of the Bio Art & Design Award 2015

27 May 2015 De Bio Art & Design (BAD) Award 2015 gaat naar de Microbioom Veiligheidsdienst (Emma Conley, Ierland), Drones met een Drang (Agi Haines, Groot-Brittannië) en De Kunst der Misleiding (Isaac Monté, België). Deze drie kunstprojecten rondom biotechnologie, ieder goed voor 25.000 euro, zijn vrijdag 22 mei door een internationale jury uitgeroepen tot winnaars. Bij de uitvoering van elk BAD Award-project is een Nederlandse biowetenschapper nauw betrokken.

Rockstart launches accelerator for digital health startups

20 May 2015 Rockstart launches its first accelerator program for digital health startups, aiming to make a sustainable impact on global health systems. Working with an extensive network of mentors and investors, as well as key health institutions and organizations, the Nijmegen-based program helps startups get access to the healthcare system itself. This allows them to engage directly with patients, professionals and other stakeholders to validate their product or service. The program runs from September, applications are now open (from May 20) and can be submitted at www.rockstart.com.

FICHe showcases 40 startups during eHealthWeek in Riga

18 May 2015 From May 11 to 13 the FICHe project joined the eHealthWeek event in Riga. Together with the 40 startups and SMEs that are selected for the second phase of the FICHe accelerator program, the FICHe project team is showcasing the results of the first part of the project. Six Dutch startups and SMEs are currently part of the project.

6 May 2015 Galapagos NV (Euronext: GLPG) kondigde vandaag aan dat het van plan is om, afhankelijk van markt- en andere omstandigheden, ongeveer $200 miljoen van haar gewone aandelen aan te bieden in het kader van een aandelenuitgifte, samengesteld uit een aanbieding van gewone aandelen in de vorm van American Depositary Shares (“ADSs”) en een aanbod van gewone aandelen in Europa en landen buiten de Verenigde Staten en Canada in het kader van een gelijktijdige private plaatsing. Beleggers die geen gekwalificeerde beleggers zijn onder toepasselijk recht zullen niet kunnen deelnemen aan deze private plaatsing.
