Young talents rewarded with ScienceMaker Award
Gisteren, 4 oktober, zijn 150 jongeren in de leeftijd van 10 tot 18 jaar gehuldigd als ScienceMaker. Uit handen van Buddy Vedder, presentator en acteur, én presentator Dennis Weening ontvingen zij een award voor hun topprestatie bij een wedstrijd op het gebied van wetenschap, technologie en maken.
InSciTe, the Institute for Science and Technology, receives €1.8 million for (Bio)medical Accelerator Matrix concept
The Chemelot Institute for Science & Technology (InSciTe) has received an EU OPZuid grant of €1.6 million to further the development and validation of the (Bio)medical Accelerator Matrix. The Provincie Limburg adds to this with an additional funding of €157,000. World’s first super-microsurgery operation with ‘robot hands’ at Maastricht UMC+
Plastic surgeons at Maastricht UMC+ have used a robotic device to surgically treat lymphedema in a patient. This is the world’s first super-microsurgical intervention with ‘robot hands’. The robotic device, created by Eindhoven company Microsure, enhances the surgeon’s precision, making this type of procedure easier to perform.Publication new Health-Holland Guide

Minister opens innovative new hospital in Maaseik
Na jaren van intensieve gesprekken met gebruikers, gedetailleerde uitwerking van de plannen, afstemming met de toetsende instanties en de realisatie is het zover; Het nieuwe ziekenhuis Maas en Kempen is gereed. Donderdag 14 september heeft Vlaams minister Jo Vandeurzen, het nieuwe ziekenhuis in Maaseik naar ontwerp van de Jong Gortemaker Algra architecten en ingenieurs officieel geopend.
