In Nederland worden sinds 1992 elk jaar de Galenus Geneesmiddelenprijs en de Galenus Researchprijs uitgereikt. Vanaf 2018, bij het 25-jarig bestaan van de Galenusprijzen is de naam, naar internationaal voorbeeld, definitief omgedoopt in respectievelijk Prix Galien, Prix Galien Pharmaceutical Award en Prix Galien Research Award.
Start-ups are movers in 'animal free testing'
26 Dutch start-ups and scale-ups shine in the booklet ‘26x better and faster without use of animals’published by Transition Programme for Innovation without the use of animals (TPI). The booklet aims to give Dutch companies that are working on animal-free innovations an international stage and was presented during the TPI Pioneer-2-Policymaker Conference.
Sharing Insight of Business Opportunities & Future Challenges in Life Sciences & Health
The Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (LSH; Health-Holland) and Invest in Holland together hosted a network event on 12 December in Rotterdam to discuss business opportunities and future challenges in Health & Care. More than 100 business leaders, entrepreneurs, scientists and government representatives were on hand to connect and share ideas from their field of expertise.
9.17 million euros released for Esther Aarts' lifestyle research into the elderly
Neurowetenschapper Esther Aarts ontvangt een Crossover-subsidie van NWO voor haar MOCIA-project. Met deze subsidie moet vooruitgang geboekt worden voor leefstijlonderzoek onder ouderen. MOCIA richt zich op een gezonder brein tijdens het ouder worden, en is een samenwerking tussen publieke en private partners.
Janssen presents report on ‘Innovation for society’
Op 12 december presenteerde Janssen Nederland zijn rapport ‘Innovatie voor de samenleving’ aan het ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat. In dit document laat Janssen zien wat het betekent om geneesmiddelen te ontwikkelen en bij patiënten te brengen.
Slow motion implosion or unmissable opportunity?
Effectiever gebruik van data en kunstmatige intelligentie is onontbeerlijk om optimale gezondheid en zorg in Nederland voor iedereen beschikbaar, betaalbaar, bruikbaar en kwalitatief hoogwaardig te houden. Gebrek aan vertrouwen enerzijds en onvoldoende garanties, en transparantie anderzijds staan een effectieve toepassing van AI voor gezondheid en zorg nu nog in de weg.
The SET scheme changes as of 1 February 2020
De SET (Stimuleringsregeling E-health Thuis) gaat veranderen. De wijziging van deze regeling is met toelichting in de Staatscourant geplaatst. De wijzigingen treden in werking met ingang van 1 februari 2020.
AGILeBiotics winner Progress Investors Forum Prize
During the Investors Forum fourteen young companies had the opportunity to present their company to interesting partners and discuss their business strategy, technology direction and capital-raising plan. On stage of the 15th edition of the Dutch Life Sciences Conference, AGILeBiotics became the proud winner of the Progress Investors Forum Prize. The Venture Challenge alumnus was awarded a partnering ticket, national or international, with a total value of €2,500.
Invest-NL a fact
De Eerste Kamer heeft ingestemd met een wetsvoorstel voor de oprichting van Invest-NL. Met de oprichting van Invest-NL stimuleert het kabinet investeringen die nu al kunnen plaatsvinden bij ondernemingen die gericht zijn op de grote transitie-opgaven en de doorgroei van ondernemingen. In totaal krijgt Invest-NL 2,5 miljard euro te besteden, waarvan 800 miljoen euro wordt ondergebracht bij ontwikkelingsbank FMO.
