How Mission-Driven Innovation is Transforming Dutch Health & Care

Health~Holland shares key insights into the Netherlands’ mission-driven strategy

Governments around the world are adopting Mission-Oriented Innovation Policies (MOIPs) to address pressing societal challenges. The Netherlands has been a leader in this approach, developing 25 missions across four societal themes, including Health & Care.

In collaboration with the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose, Health~Holland has published a report that explores the impact of the Dutch MOIP strategy. The report highlights:

  • The processes driving the implementation of MOIPs in the Netherlands
  • Successes, challenges, and valuable lessons learned
  • Innovative tools like the Knowledge and Innovation Agenda, which foster collaboration across sectors

While the journey has not been without its challenges, the Dutch MOIP approach demonstrates promising results, including strong cross-sector collaboration and groundbreaking instruments for innovation.
