Clémence Ross-van Dorp appointed as ambassador Life Sciences & Health Sector

Clémence Ross-van Dorp, former State Secretary for Health, Welfare and Sport, will be the ambassador for the Action Programme “New Opportunities for Top Sector Life Sciences & Health” (LSH) from 1 January 2020. She will do this on behalf of the Minister for Medical Care and Sport (Bruno Bruins) and State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy (Mona Keijzer).

The Action Programme has been set up due to the arrival of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in the Netherlands at the start of 2019. In her role as ambassador, Ross-van Dorp will work hard to capitalise the economic and social opportunities that the arrival of EMA offers and to strengthen the Dutch LSH sector. This autumn, Ross-van Dorp will start preparing for her role as an ambassador, for example by getting to know relevant stakeholders.

Ross-van Dorp is chair of the Lung Alliance Netherlands. She is also a director at the Agora Foundation and she holds various supervisory positions, for example at the University of Twente and the Princess Máxima Center for pediatric oncology. Ross-Van Dorp was Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport from 2002 to 2007.
