Dutch-German Mini-Symposium on "AI based-assistance to People with Dementia"

Event

On 19 January 2022, a Dutch-German digital mini-symposium on AI-based assistive technology for people with dementia will take place. The Netherlands Innovation Network Germany and JAIN cordially invite you to join!

In this mini symposium, 6 researchers and entrepreneurs from the Netherlands and Germany will give pitches about their area of work, and answer questions afterwards.

Why this symposium?

More than 50 million people worldwide live with dementia. But, the number of people available to provide care decreases substantially in the coming decades. Dementia has a major impact on the quality of life and entails a high perceived burden of disease. To maintain the quality of life of people with dementia or other cognitive impairments, smart applications need to be developed to provide effective support and keep the healthcare available and affordable. Both in The Netherlands and in Germany, efforts are made to improve the quality of life of people with dementia using technological innovation.

All in all, our mission is that by 2030, quality of life of people with dementia will have improved by 25%. You can read more about mission IV and the other missions in the Knowledge and Innovation Agenda.
