On March 26 Arent Fox together with the Loyens & Loeff Life Sciences Team will organize an afternoon seminar about the patenting of Life Sciences and Food-related inventions in the U.S. Our special guests Alexander Spiegler and Jeff Vockrodt, both partners and attorneys at law specialized in patent law, will lead the event and take us into the good practices of patenting products.

Jeff Vockrodt, Partner at Arent Fox, focuses on global patent procurement and enforcement strategies, with an emphasis on chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Jeff represents both patent owners and challengers in disputes involving a wide range of technologies, including additive manufacturing, semiconductors, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and chemical processing. Jeff serves as lead counsel in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), and has substantial experience throughout all aspects of ex parte and inter partes reexaminations in addition to interference proceedings before that tribunal including appeals to the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC).
Alex Spiegler, also Partner at Arent Fox, is a registered patent attorney whose practice focuses on all aspects of patent law, with an emphasis on the chemical and life sciences industries. Alex has extensive experience with the US Patent & Trademark Office, specializing in patent prosecution and post-grant proceedings (e.g., inter partes reviews), in a wide variety of technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and agricultural technology. Alex also provides advice on claim construction, infringement, and validity issues in litigation. Alex has been recognized by Legal 500 as a leading lawyer in Patent Prosecution
