Prehabilitation clinic - follow up project
UMCG Prehabilitation Center, where among others anesthesiologists, geriatrists, physiotherapists, dieticians, medical psychologists, lifestyle specialists work together to make a prehabilitation plan for the patient scheduled for surgery or other treatment. Regional implementation could be arranged within our Managed Clinical Network HPB surgery in the North-Eastern part of the Netherlands. Nationwide implementation will require a trial with stepped wedge design implementing this prehabilitation program within the hospitals affiliated to the Dutch Pancreatic Cancer Group and Dutch Hepatobiliary Audit.
Summary
The knowledge gained by the previous prehabilitation project will be shared within the surgical department, since patients from the department of abdominal and surgical oncology, vascular surgery and trauma surgery could also benefit from prehabilitation. Potential improvements will be made before they implement the prehab clinic into other departments. The final goal is to set up an multidisciplinary.
