Registration FIGON Dutch Medicines Days open
Vanaf nu kunnen belangstellenden zich inschrijven voor de twintigste editie van de FIGON Dutch Medicines Days. Dit jaarlijks terugkerende evenement vindt dit jaar plaats op 1 en 2 oktober in congrescentrum De Reehorst in Ede.
The MIT scheme 2018 has started
Innovative small- and medium-sized enterprises (SME) can once again apply for grants this spring through the SME Innovation Incentive Scheme for Regions and Top Sectors (MIT scheme). Grants provided through the scheme may be used for the following: knowledge vouchers, feasibility projects, and R&D joint ventures. The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy together with the regions is providing a budget (expected around 50 million euros) for the MIT arrangement 2018.
Venture Challenge Spring 2018 kick-off: Meet the teams
Every year LifeSciences@Work organises two Venture Challenges for startups that want to develop their idea into a solid business case. On 11 April, the spring edition of the Venture Challenge 2018 kicked off with the first three-day boot camp in Nunspeet. In this boot camp, six highly motivated teams are coached in developing their business proposition. In the coming weeks, the teams will explore their markets and, eventually, pitch their business plan to a jury and audience of life sciences investors. The winning team will be announced at the Dutch Biotech Event on 29 June and will receive € 25,000 to build their business.
New foundation for Life Sciences & Health start-ups
Sinds vorige maand is er een nieuw subsidiefonds beschikbaar voor kleine ondernemingen en startups in Gelderland; RedMedTech Discovery Fund II. Het fonds is een opvolging van het RedMedTech Discovery Fund I, en wordt in samenwerking met Health Valley, Radboudumc, Oost NL en Saxion beschikbaar gesteld.New NWO strategy 2019-2022: Connecting science and society
Vandaag maakt NWO haar nieuwe strategie voor de periode 2019-2022 bekend. Het strategisch plan beschrijft vijf ambities van NWO om de komende jaren de wetenschappelijke en maatschappelijke impact van het Nederlandse onderzoek te bevorderen. Met dit strategisch plan zet NWO een stap ze op flexibele en daadkrachtige wijze anticipeert op ontwikkelingen in wetenschap en maatschappij.
MIMETAS Secures 20 Million Dollar Series B Financing
MIMETAS, leader in organ-on-a-chip products and tissue models, has secured 20.5 million USD in financing from an international syndicate from Asia and Europe. MIMETAS will use the proceeds of this Series B financing round to expand its global commercial footprint with the OrganoPlate® organ-on-a-chip platform.
Patient-friendly information clinical research necessary
Patiënten hebben behoefte aan betrouwbare, begrijpelijke en makkelijk vindbare informatie over medisch-wetenschappelijk onderzoek. Dat blijkt uit een onderzoek dat de Dutch Clinical Research Foundation (DCRF) 29 maart publiceerde.
Big Data research for prevention and early detection cardiovascular diseases
De Hartstichting, NWO, ZonMw, de Topsector LSH en het Netherlands eScience Center bundelen hun krachten en ontwikkelen samen een publiek-privaat onderzoeksprogramma onder de paraplu van het Big Data onderzoeksplatform Commit2Data. Voor de voorbereiding van projectvoorstellen wordt een werkbijeenkomst georganiseerd.
Impuls project provides solution for antibiotic resistance?
Door het toenemende gebruik van antibiotica raken bacteriën in ons lichaam langzaam resistent. Dit is een groot probleem omdat zonder werkende antibiotica mensen kunnen overlijden aan infecties die normaal goed te behandelen zijn. Jaarlijks sterven er nu al 700.000 mensen aan infecties vanwege antibiotica resistentie. De verwachting is dat dit aantal zal toenemen tot 10 miljoen mensen in 2050.Broad cabinetdelegation on economic mission to China
Minister-president Mark Rutte, minister voor Buitenlandse Handel en Ontwikkelings- samenwerking Sigrid Kaag, minister van Landbouw, Natuur en Voedselkwaliteit Carola Schouten, minister voor Medische Zorg en Sport Bruno Bruins en staatssecretaris van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat Stientje van Veldhoven reizen tussen 8 en 13 april 2018 naar China voor een handelsmissie. Hans de Boer, voorzitter van VNO-NCW is de zakelijk missieleider voor deze reis waaraan circa 165 bedrijven en kennisinstellingen uit diverse sectoren deelnemen.
