The Netherlands Cancer Institute awarded funding to apply molecular imaging technology to prostate cancer surgery

The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) announced that it has received funding from the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF Kankerbestrijding) to test whether a novel molecular imaging technology can guide prostate cancer surgery. The project will evaluate the imaging technology’s ability to detect prostate cancer during surgery, with the aim of performing more accurate removal of cancerous tissue.

Industry invest € 510 million in public research

Nederlandse bedrijven investeerden in 2016 € 510 miljoen in publiek-private onderzoeksprojecten. De totale investeringen in deze projecten liepen daarmee op tot € 1.060 miljoen, waarvan 48% private bijdragen. Hiermee is een belangrijke doelstelling van het bedrijvenbeleid van € 800 miljoen aan publiek-private investeringen ruimschoots behaald. Dit blijkt uit de Voortgangsrapportage Bedrijvenbeleid 2017 - Navigeren met wind in de zeilen.

Venture Challenge Fall 2017 kick-off in Nunspeet

The Venture Challenge Fall 2017 started last week with the first 3-day boot camp in the woods of Nunspeet. In this edition, six highly motivated teams are coached in developing their business proposition. In the coming weeks, the teams will explore their markets and, eventually, pitch their business plan to a jury and audience of life sciences investors. The winning team will be announced at the Dutch Life Sciences Conference 2017 (22 November, Pivot Park, Oss) and receives €25,000 to build their business.
