The Winner of the Venture Challenge Summer 2020 is PacingCure!

This year’s winners of the Venture Challenge were uniquely announced in front of an online audience at the Dutch Life Sciences Conference. The proud winner of the summer edition is PacingCure. The innovative startup PacingCure develops gene therapies for common cardiac arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies, using an innovative precision approach.

According to the jury, comprised of Carine van den Brink, Eline Vrijland, Andre van de Sande, Kim Lucassen and Geert-Jan Mulder, PacingCure is addressing a highly unmet medical need that they can target with their gene-therapy. They have identified a clear first orphan indication to prove their technique. Moreover, they are a very experienced team of clinicians.

PacingCure develops gene therapies for common cardiac arrhythmias and cardiomyopathies, using an innovative precision approach. Their medical products offer patients who suffer from severe morbidity and mortality superior treatment over established implantable and medicinal therapies, and a cure for patients who are currently untreatable. Their in-vivo validated gene therapies are injected directly into a small region of the heart using a simple, minimal-invasive procedure. Using non-dilutive funding, PacingCure has developed proprietary technologies to support a portfolio of products. PacingCure's team builds on a longstanding track-record with highly experienced clinicians and scientists. With PacingCure’s unique platform and excellent team, it’s their vision to become a world leader in cardiac gene therapy.

Hanno Tan of PacingCure: "PacingCure's ambition to bring precision gene therapies for the heart to the patients who urgently need them has been vastly boosted by the Venture Challenge
