Crossover call
Met de Crossover call financiert NWO onderzoek in publiek-private samenwerking (PPS) dat gericht is op maatschappelijke uitdagingen, waarbij de onderzoeksthema's meerdere topsectoren verbinden. De call staat open voor alle wetenschappelijke disciplines. Breed samengestelde interdisciplinaire consortia, bestaande uit onderzoekers en publieke en private partners, kunnen onderzoeksvoorstellen als een samenhangend project indienen.
Minister Bruno Bruins reaches agreement on reimbursement Spinraza
Minister Bruno Bruins (Medische Zorg) heeft een akkoord bereikt met fabrikant Biogen. Hierdoor komt het middel Spinraza voor circa 80 jonge kinderen met de spierziekte Spinale Musculaire Atrofie (SMA) vanaf 1 augustus in het basispakket.Take-off Grant is open for application
Take-off is een programma voor het stimuleren en ondersteunen van bedrijvigheid en ondernemerschap vanuit de wetenschap. Per jaar is er een voorjaar- en een najaarsronde die openstaat voor starters. Deze open calls bieden financieringsmogelijkheden voor ondernemende onderzoekers aan NWO-erkende onderzoeksinstituten, hbo-instellingen en onderzoekers gebruikmakend van kennis van TO2-instellingen.

200 million euros for SMEs
De ministerraad heeft op voorstel van staatssecretaris Keijzer van Economische Zaken en Klimaat (EZK) ingestemd met het MKB-Actieplan. De afgelopen maanden maakte de staatssecretaris een ‘MKB-tour’ door Nederland en sprak met ondernemers over hun drie grootste uitdagingen: personeel, digitalisering en financiering. Het MKB-actieplan helpt het midden- en kleinbedrijf met het oplossen hiervan. Het kabinet stelt tot en met 2021 hiervoor 200 miljoen euro beschikbaar.Call for proposals Microplastics & Health

VarmX, a Leiden based biotech company focusing on the development of therapies in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis, announced the closing of a Series A financing round of € 7.5 million. The round was led by the existing shareholder BioGeneration Ventures (BGV) and regional economic development company InnovationQuarter also invested. Uniiq and Leiden University are also shareholders through conversion of their start-up loan to the company. The equity financing is supplemented by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) with an Innovation Credit of € 5.0 million to a total of € 12.5 million.GROZ: Joining forces for a fit society
On 4 July 2018, the Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (Health~Holland) will start the initiative GROZ. GROZ seeks to realise a new balance in our healthcare system and is a national collaboration in the area of the societal challenge Health and Care. Within GROZ, citizens, healthcare professionals, entrepreneurs, scientists, financiers and the government will join forces at both local and national level.
