Adult Stem Cell-Derived Kidney-on-a-Chip in Nature Biotechnology
Scientists from the Hubrecht Institute, the University of Utrecht, and MIMETAS have successfully grown kidney tubules derived from human kidney adult stem cells in microfluidic chips. This research has been published in Nature Biotechnology by the world-leading research group from Professor Hans Clevers.
32 scientists to receive NWO Vici grants worth 1.5 million euros

SeraNovo, een Leidse startup die een nieuw platform voor medicijnformulering ontwerpt, heeft een investering van € 300.000 ontvangen uit het Zuid-Hollandse investeringsfonds UNIIQ. De technologie van SeraNovo maakt het mogelijk om medicatie op een andere manier op te lossen, waardoor medicatie beter opgenomen kan worden door de patiënt.
Successful research programme 'Technology for Oncology' continues
NWO Domain Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES), the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) and Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (LSH) are once again joining forces to connect medical science with technological research groups and industry. The collaboration should lead to technical innovations for the prevention, diagnosis and better treatment of cancer, including a better quality of life.
