Trend scenario VTV-2018 identifies societal challenges for the future
Als historische trends zich onveranderd door zetten, veroorzaakt dementie in 2040 de meeste ziektelast en is het de belangrijkste doodsoorzaak. Het aantal mensen dat overlijdt als gevolg van dementie zal dan toenemen van 14.000 in 2015 tot bijna 40.000 in 2040. Dit is één van de belangrijkste bevindingen van het Trendscenario van de VTV-2018. Het Trendscenario laat zien hoe onze volksgezondheid er in 2040 uit zou kunnen zien als er vanaf nu niets meer zou veranderen. Zo kunnen maatschappelijke opgaven voor de toekomst geïdentificeerd worden.

After 10 years of the successful innovation network of MedtechPartners, the concept was translated to the biotech industry. During these meetings entrepreneurs and potential partners from industry, that focuses on new, highly innovative ideas in biotech, are matched. How? The entrepreneurs end their pitch with their challenges and the partnerships that they are looking for. In close collaboration with Health~Holland BiotechPartners entered the pilot phase on the 15th of June in Leiden.

24 projects for Translational Research Call
Jointly ten health foundations, ZonMw, and Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (LSH) have granted 24 projects within the Translational Research Call. The involved organisations joined forces on participation of patients and industry in research & development. It seems to be of great importance, because it often leads to a goal oriented approach and focus on implementation of research results. With this in mind the collaboration on the joined call started in the beginning of 2016.
