Why the Netherlands?

The Netherlands is rapidly positioning itself as a global hub for women’s health innovation. Recent national developments, including the launch of a dedicated women’s health strategy by the Ministry of Health, underline a long-term political and societal commitment to addressing gender disparities in healthcare.

In parallel, the Ministry of Economic Affairs has identified biotechnology as a strategic priority within its broader innovation agenda. By strengthening biotech as a driver of health innovation, economic resilience, and future earning capacity, the Netherlands creates a unique environment where life sciences, biotech and women’s health can converge.

Known for its strong public-private partnerships and world-class research institutions, the Netherlands offers an ideal setting for joint R&D, international collaboration and co-investment.

The Dutch ecosystem is home to:

  • A fast-growing Femtech and Medtech startup scene
  • Strategic investors with a growing focus on Women’s Health
  • Active government support through regional and national agencies
  • World-class knowledge institutions and academic
  • A thriving biotech and biomolecular research hub supported by collaborative clusters
