Drawing on global initiatives such as COP28 UAE and the SDGs, the Dutch LSH organisations are ideally situated to pioneer sustainable healthcare solutions, bolstered by the Netherlands’ dedicated efforts to diminish the environmental impact of healthcare. What to expect
Recognizing the impact of the footprint of the healthcare sector on climate change, a growing movement towards sustainable healthcare practices is seen both nationally and internationally. Amidst a national and global push for sustainability, Dutch LSH companies are perfectly poised to pioneer in this critical intersection of health and environmental stewardship. With the WHO and UNFCCC highlighting the nexus between climate change and health, and initiatives like the European Green Deal, COP28 UAE, the WHA resolution, and the Sustainable Development Goals charting the path forward, Dutch enterprises are invited to align their innovations with these global and national agendas. The Dutch government’s commitment to reducing the healthcare sector’s environmental footprint through initiatives like the Global Health Strategy further supports this mission.
The aim of this masterclass is to get a better understanding on the international opportunities in the fields of climate and health, emphasizing environmental and social strategies for adapting to or mitigating climate change.
During the masterclass, speakers from different organisations focusing on sustainability will elaborate on developments of the healthcare market around the topic of sustainability internationally, as well as the Netherlands’ proactive role and updates on the global health strategy with an emphasis on both the mitigation and adaptation of health systems. Followed up during the masterclass, organized in collaboration with Philips and Signify, both respective TFHC partners will share their knowledge and experiences. The masterclass will end with an open discussion on how to best support and position Dutch green & sustainable healthcare solutions in an international context.
