Latest trends and developments

Since June 19 Colombia has elected a new president, Gustavo Petro, which is the first left president of the country. His approach, regarding Colombia’s healthcare system, will focus on cost containment, prevention, equality and technology integration/interoperability. To do so, comprehensive and integrated networks are now being created to provide opportunities to develop initiatives that could contribute to improving healthcare provision, such as the implementation of the Digital Health Roadmap for the coming 10 years.

Also, Colombia’s regulatory framework has been undergoing several changes, such as the implementation of the Decreto 441. This decree provides a legal basis regarding the negotiation process to minimize the information asymmetry and to facilitate supervision and tracing.

Both developments provide new opportunities to provide highly innovative healthcare solutions, stimulating the collaboration between Colombia and the Netherlands.

What to expect?

This mission will provide excellent opportunities to reconnect with relevant business contacts. The program is still under development but will include the following elements:

  • Site visits in Bogotá, e.g. to public- and private hospitals, health units, universities, insurers/EPS etc.
  • Individual matchmaking
  • Networking events

To increase the quality and success of the mission, individual intake meetings will be organized to prepare for the matchmaking. After registration, you will receive more details.
