Validation First Line CineECG

ECG Excellence and University Medical Centre Utrecht combine their strengths in the First Line CineECG project. Project focus is on improving the quality of  first line ECG interpretation which hinders effective timely identification of Heart Infarcts. The FLC project aims to improve heart infarct identification applying CineECG, a new ECG interpretation software technology. How: by comparing CineECG performance with current standards in both Emergency Department and before hospital admission (ambulance / General Practitioner).

Accurate ECG interpretation is still a true challenge even for trained physicians. On average (JAMA IM 09-2022) only 54% of 12-lead ECGs are interpretated correctly by physicians. Resulting in 30% of missed Myocardial Infarction diagnosis, unneeded referrals to cardiology, over-diagnosis and unneeded patients send home.
CineECG is a new technology to improve and increase correct ECG interpretation based on digital twin and AI technologies. CineECG applies computerized inverse cardiac modelling to instantly reconstruct heart activation and recovery features from standard 12 lead ECG data. CineECG applies comparisons of recorded ECG values with normal values for the data which until now was not recognizable. And CineECG applies new visualization which support easy recognition of differences between normal and abnormal heart performance. CineECG directly relates ECG data to the heart anatomy making even hard patients cases far easier to analyze.

The ultimate goal is to add CineECG to the toolkit of ECG interpretation both the primary and secondary lines of Care. The early and more spot on identification of heart diseases such as heart infarcts will reduce diagnostics costs, initiate earlier treatment and save patient lives. This is also supported by the ECG comparison function of CineECG which enables the ECG to convert in personalized monitoring tool for higher risk cardiac patients.
