Dutch Life Sciences conference held at Pivot Park
To mark the 10th anniversary of Pivot Park (Oss), the 13th edition of the Dutch Life Sciences Conference (DLSC) took place at this science park on 22 November. At this annual event approximately 200 professionals working in the life sciences industry gathered together to hear more about topics such as medical food, drug delivery, and electronic and mobile healthcare. In the afternoon, participants could visit the Screening Centre in the heart of Pivot Park.

The VUmc Amsterdam laboratory of neurochemistry receives 200 grand funding for two new alzheimer biomarker tests
Het VUmc Neurochemisch laboratorium, nauw verbonden aan het VUmc Alzheimercentrum ontvangt twee keer een ton aan onderzoeksgeld om te besteden aan biomarkeronderzoek. De subsidie is beschikbaar gesteld door Health~Holland, in samenwerking met Alzheimer Nederland. Health~Holland geeft namens de overheid subsidies uit. Belangrijk bij dit soort subsidies is dat er een nauwe samenwerking is tussen de academische sector en private partners zoals bijvoorbeeld biotechnologie bedrijven.

Cristal Therapeutics Awarded €2.5 Million Horizon 2020 Grant to Advance Its CriPec-docetaxel through Phase 2 trials
Cristal Therapeutics, a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company developing targeted nanomedicines for the treatment of cancer and other diseases with high unmet patient need, announced that it secured a €2.5 million grant from the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 programme. The funds will be used to perform the upcoming Phase 2 trials of Cristal Therapeutics’ lead nanomedicine candidate CriPec-docetaxel.
