Cytek Biosciences Moves to Amsterdam Life Sciences District
US-based Cytek Biosciences is moving its regional headquarters for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to the Ada Health & Technology Center in the Amsterdam Life Sciences District. As a specialist in full spectrum flow cytometry, Cytek joins a growing number of innovative companies to settle in the office campus as part of the Netherlands’ life sciences & health ecosystem.
Cytek first expanded to the Netherlands in 2019 with a new office and a partnership with Amsterdam UMC to establish a Spectral Cytometry Knowledge Center. The company’s new EMEA headquarters in Amsterdam will be the home base for a host of office operations, including regional sales, marketing, customer services and administrative functions. The location will also house a repair center and training center. It will be led by Cytek’s Director of EMEA Operations Lars J.T. Droog.

Droog discussed why Cytek chose the Amsterdam Life Sciences District for its regional headquarters: “When looking for new locations in the Netherlands, we found Amsterdam to be particularly attractive. Amsterdam has a highly skilled workforce and the Amsterdam Life Sciences District is home to a thriving life sciences and health sector, is easily accessible by both car and public transport and is located near Schiphol International Airport.”
As part of the Amsterdam healthy & technology institute (ahti), the Amsterdam Life Sciences District brings together companies, entrepreneurs and scientists into a close-knit life sciences community – one in which seminars and other networking events are regularly organized. This local life sciences community is representative of the larger landscape in the Netherlands, which is establishing itself as Europe’s connected life sciences & health metropolis.
