Start-up pitch
Twice a year, HIHR hosts a live pitch event where emerging academic entrepreneurs present their business cases to a curated audience of life science professionals, including venture capitalists, industry leaders, and competence providers.
They invite new spin-off initiatives actively seeking (pre)seed funding to submit their nomination via their Technology Transfer Office (TTO). Their events cover BioTech, MedTech, and Digital Health. Please note that they adhere to strict application deadlines April and October. Following your submission, they will schedule a brief 10-minute MS Teams call to discuss your nomination and ensure we fully understand your project’s goals.

Are you actively seeking a venture capital investment? Apply for a pitch for the upcominging event on 18 November 2026 in Leiden.
Following the selection committee’s review, all applicants will be notified of their status. While they can only select a limited number of pitches, those not chosen for the main event will be invited to participate in a Quickfire session and are highly encouraged to reapply for a future edition.
