Top Sector Life Sciences & Health (LSH) entails a broad scope of disciplines, from pharmaceuticals to medical technology and from healthcare infrastructure to vaccination. To realise its mission – vital citizens in a healthy economy - the Top Sector builds on the strengths of the Dutch LSH sector to address the biggest societal challenges in prevention, cure and care. By funding multidisciplinary public-private partnerships (PPPs) the Top Sector aims to facilitate innovation. Here we give an overview of  a number of funded R&D projects by Top Sector LSH.     This project aims to create a multiwell technology platform to asses pancreatic islet growth by imaging techniques

    Hubrecht Institute and miRagen Therapeutics work together to investigate ways to better deliver new medicines to the heart.
  • Optimization of production of gelatin nanospheres for regenerative medicine

    Gelatin nanospheres can be fabricated at industrial scale to allow for local release of therapeutic biomolecules.
  • Resolving liver fibrosis with nutritional and therapeutic interventions.

    Obtaining more insight into the processes involved in hepatic fibrosis development caused by non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. .
  • The use of light and magnetism to reveal stem cell-based repair of hearing

    Stem-cell-based therapy to repair the auditory nerve in patients with a cochlear implant: combining biology and electronics.
