Kijktip: Een Health~Holland webinar door en voor het mkb
Het mkb werkzaam in de Life Sciences & Health (LSH) sector is doorgaans op zoek naar financiering voor onderzoek en ontwikkeling. Een financieringsvorm van de Topsector LSH is de Publiek-Private Samenwerking (PPS) toeslag. Om de kansen van deze toeslagregeling over het voetlicht te brengen organiseerde de Topsector een webinar door en voor het mkb.
Sanofi establishes itself in Amsterdam
Sanofi, een wereldwijde leider op het gebied van gezondheidszorg, gaat in Nederland al zijn activiteiten en medewerkers huisvesten op één locatie in Amsterdam. Per november zullen ca. 200 medewerkers van Sanofi Gouda en 300 collega’s van de Nederlandse vestiging en het Europese hoofdkantoor van Sanofi Genzyme in Naarden hun intrek nemen in het Amsterdam Health & Technology Center (AHTC).

NADP Voucher Event
The Netherlands Antibiotic Development Platform (NADP) launched a novel funding opportunity during the NADP Voucher Event on 22 May 2018. The NADP Vouchers will support researchers and small- or medium-sized enterprises to bring their novel antibiotics and alternatives a step closer to the clinic.
Treeway prepares phase 3 study for TW001 to treat ALS
Treeway, a biotech company developing therapies against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), announced the completion of its Phase I trial of lead program TW001, an oral formulation of edaravone. The study suggests that the novel oral formulation improves bioavailability while remaining well tolerated. Based on these results, Treeway has initiated the upscaling program and preparations for a pivotal Phase 3 study.
New medicine against polycystic kidney disease less effective than was hoped for
Het DIPAK-consortium doet onderzoek naar een mogelijk medicijn tegen cystenieren: lanreotide. Onderzoekers maakten op een Europees congres bekend dat het middel geen positieve uitkomsten heeft op de nierfunctie. Nederland en India gaan nauwer samenwerken op het gebied van antibioticaresistentie en infectiepreventie. Minister Bruno Bruins (Medische Zorg) heeft hierover vandaag afspraken gemaakt tijdens zijn bezoek aan Delhi. De afspraken gaan over Nederlandse hulp bij het opzetten van een samenwerkingsstructuur in India, en het inrichten en professionaliseren van een surveillance systeem, bijvoorbeeld door het uitwisselen van richtlijnen in ziekenhuizen over infectiepreventie.NWO launches call for implementation of Dutch National Research Agenda
Today NWO launched the first funding round for the Dutch National Research Agenda (NWA) programme. The programme encourages broad-based multidisciplinary consortia to submit research proposals that are compatible with one or more of the 25 NWA routes. The research focuses on the entire chain of fundamental, applied and practical research. An amount of 52.2 million euros has been set aside for this funding round. The deadline for preliminary proposals is 11 September 2018.
After 10 years of research: new guidelines for cancer prevention
Vandaag worden de bevindingen van het grootste onderzoek ooit naar voeding, leefstijl en kanker gelijktijdig gepresenteerd in Amsterdam, Londen en Washington. Na 10 jaar onderzoek maakt het Wereld Kanker Onderzoek Fonds de nieuwe aanbevelingen voor het verkleinen van de kans op kanker bekend.
