Dutch biotechnology company Micreos announced it has secured €30 million in funding to accelerate the development of its endolysin technology, set to replace antibiotics. Proceeds are earmarked for the clinical development program of its endolysin XZ.700 and the USA launch of its breakthrough OTC Gladskin product for eczema.

New research explores the effect of nutrition on the fitness of the immune system

The 26th of March marks the start of four scientific projects that will investigate the effects of nutrition on the fitness of the immune system. The scientists received funding for these projects from the Partnership programme of NWO Domain Applied and Engineering Sciences and Danone Nutricia Research. NWO and Danone Nutricia Research are investing a total of 3 million Euros in this programme.

On 1 April 2019, Carmen van Vilsteren from Eindhoven University of Technology became the new chair of Top Sector Life Sciences & Health.
