The website for the Sino-Dutch Elderly Care programme is online! This multi-annual programme has been launched by the Dutch Ministry of Health Welfare and Sports to promote Dutch elderly care solutions and to identify opportunities for Sino-Dutch cooperation.

How it all started

One of China’s most important government agencies, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), has signed an MoU with the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Task Force Health coordinates the implementation of this MoU on the Dutch side.

Both countries can learn from the experiences and lessons of the other in order to develop future-proof elderly care. China’s population is ageing faster than that of other middle-income countries. Given the profound experience of The Netherlands in providing cost-effective home and community care solutions, the Netherlands serves as an inspirational model for China. At the same time Dutch organisations are eager to learn about China’s rapid digital transformation in healthcare and how they organise elderly care on such a large scale.

Explore this website and find out how the programme can be beneficial for your (future) cooperation with China.
