Proposal for FET Flagship on Biofabrication for Regenerative Medicine

A new FET Flagship proposal is compiled that contains a statement on the clustering of health topics in biofabrication for regenerative medicine. Related to the following topics: Human Printing Era (HOPE), organ-on-chip technology, European initiative for regenerative medicine, and sensory restoration. There have already been preliminary discussions between the core groups of these consortia. There is a strong willingness to further explore these synergies into a common FET flagship initiative under the name Biofabrication for Regenerative Medicine.

This flagship proposal on “Biofabrication for Regenerative Medicine”  is a collegial efforts resulting from the European members of the International Society for Biofabrication and from the Italian Regenerative Medicine Infrastructure. In the Netherlands, the initiative has been strongly supported by Maastricht University and UMC Utrecht. The convergence of these efforts has been recently also endorsed by the European chapter of the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society.

Top Sector LSH supports the FET flagship proposal on Biofabrication for Regenerative Medicine. Please download the new proposal here and read more on the necessity and potentials of the flagship.
